Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. issued an urgent recall. The recall follows detection of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes in packaged Locatelli grated Pecorino Romano.

Cheese Product Recalled Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

On November 26, 2025, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. initiated a recall in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall is aimed at a particular cheese product sold under the brand name Locatelli. The product is suspected of Listeria contamination and needs to be discarded immediately.

Wegmans, a regional supermarket chain with more than 100 stores along the U.S. East Coast, said the recall was triggered after its supplier alerted the company to a potential contamination. The recalled product was sold at Wegmans stores in several states.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious or fatal infections in children, the frail, and elderly individuals.
