The Ambriola Company has initiated a recall of its cheese products. The products were recalled due to possible Listeria contamination. The company is also recalling additional items out of an abundance of caution.

Urgent Recall Issued of Cheese Products with Listeria Contamination

The Ambriola Company, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, issued an urgent recall. The recall covers a range of Pecorino Romano cheeses sold under multiple brand names. The products are suspected of Listeria contamination, which resulted in the recall.

Routine testing confirmed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in some of the company’s cheese. That confirmation triggered a nationwide recall affecting products sold under several major cheese brands. The company will now undergo a thorough review of its sanitation and food safety procedures. Meanwhile, all production and distribution of affected products have been suspended.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can have serious repercussions on certain individuals. Healthy individuals may suffer from short-term symptoms like a high fever, headache, diarrhea, nausea, and so on. However, it can cause serious or fatal infections in children, the frail, and the elderly.

Pregnant people face additional risks, including miscarriage or stillbirth, if infected. No illnesses have been reported yet, but the company urges consumers to discard the products immediately.

The recalled products have been distributed between November 3, 2025, and November 20, 2025. These were distributed nationwide under the brand names Ambriola, Locatelli, Member’s Mark, Pinna, and Boar’s Head.
