What Now last covered chef legend Leticia Mitchell at the very end of spring, when word got out that the chef was expanding her Leticia’s Cocina and Cantina concept, bringing it to Boulder Station.
The restaurant has since opened and is serving up Guisados De Casa like Mole Poblano (Tender chicken or pork, mole poblano sauce, topped with marinated onion and sprinkled with ajonjoli [sesame seeds], arroz poblano and beans, choice of tortillas), Birria, and Steak Ranchero (Carne asada seared with caramelized onions, poblano strips and jalapeños rajas, corn wheels, in ranchera sauce, rice and beans and choice of tortillas).
Now, it appears that Chef Leticia is at work on a new project at the southern of the Arts District.
This week, What Now came across licensing paperwork submitted to the City of Las Vegas for a cafe called Besties Cafe, which would open at 1401 S Commerce Street, right on the intersection with West Imperial Avenue. The paperwork was submitted by Tu Casa Tres LLC, behind which are Leticia Mitchell and Eunchung Sue Kiple.
What Now reached out to Mitchell on Friday to ask about plans for Besties Cafe. Mitchell was not immediately available for comment.
That leaves us wondering for the moment about Besties Cafe’s menu; we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled.
