One of New York City’s most iconic bagels is coming to Midtown Miami.
H&H Bagels, the famous brand that’s been a background “character” in Manhattan-based shows such as Seinfeld and Sex and the City, is opening a shop at the intersection where Wynwood meets Midtown Miami, at 55 NE 29th Street, according to the H&H Bagel website. No official opening date has been set.
H & H Bagels was founded in 1972 by Helmer Toro and Hector Hernandez, who purchased Midtown Bagels and renamed it after their initials. The company is now owned by CEO Jay Rushin, who acquired H&H in 2014. Since then, Rushin has overseen its expansion, with both company-owned and franchise locations. In addition, H&H Bagels ships its famous product to fans nationwide.  The company is poised to open dozens of locations in the new future and is rapidly expanding in Florida. A Boca Raton shop is open, and franchisee/partner Dylan Levin is bringing H&H to Pinecrest, as well as the Wynwood/Midtown location.
More than just a bagel shop, H&H Bagels is a New York institution for its toothsome bagels, cream cheeses, and bagel sandwiches. The shop has been a background player on major hit TV shows and Mariah Carey even gave them a shoutout in her autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
