Nashville Local Eatery Cited for Violations After Recent Inspection

With a rustic, rehabbed setting, Lockeland Table offers Southern-style American dishes and wood-fired pizza. According to the inspection report, the restaurant was cited for several violations, which are:

  • The report noted that mussel tags were not kept with the corresponding batches stored in Prep Cooler 1.
  • Raw chicken was found stored above whole-cut beef in the walk-in cooler. According to the report, the team was instructed on proper vertical storage based on required cooking temperatures.
  • Cooked chicken wings were observed on the wood-oven prep counter at 58°F. Staff stated the wings had been left out for two hours during happy hour.
  • Acorn squash held on ice in the two-door lowboy cooler measured 51°F. Arancini sauce and coleslaw, moved from the cooler about 1.5 hours before, were also above temperature.
  • Several boxes of frozen foods were found sitting directly on the walk-in floor, the report said.
  • A scoop was found in the bulk panko container with the handle resting in the food product.

  • The report noted that multiple containers were stacked while wet, which prevents proper air-drying and increases bacterial growth risk.
  • The cutting surface on Prep Cooler 1 was described as heavily worn and stained black, indicating it is no longer easily cleanable.
  • The inspector noted that chlorine sanitizer test strips were not available at the time of inspection.
  • The bottom of the single-door reach-in freezer was covered with a heavy buildup of bread and flour crumbs.
  • Excessive black residue was observed on the wall behind the dish machine, the report noted.
  • A required “No Smoking” sign was not posted at the back exit door.

According to the inspection report’s footnote, the restaurant is expected to correct all the violations. Failure to fix the issues or repeated offenses will result in suspension of the food service establishment permit.
