Tastes By Indy, the luxury soul food brand built by 24-year-old chef and founder Indiah “Chef Indy” Jackson, is preparing to open its first dedicated kitchen space in early January. The new pick-up only concept, located at 2864 North High Street, will serve as the home base for daily orders, catering production, and food truck operations.
Chef Indy has grown TBI from home cooking to a sought-after catering service and seasonal food truck, known for long festival lines and signature dishes like Soul Rolls, Pretty Wings, Jerk Mac Attack bowls, lamb chops, salmon and elevated takes on classic comfort food. The brand’s style blends soul flavors with a luxury presentation, backed by a strong local following and steady demand for delivery and takeout.
The upcoming space functions more like a ghost kitchen than a traditional restaurant. There is a small front area where customers can place an order by ringing a bell, but most business will run through online ordering with scheduled pick-up times. The setup is designed for speed, consistency, and high-volume production rather than dine-in service.
Chef Indy expects to wrap up inspections this week and is targeting the second week of January for the official launch. The new kitchen will also support seasonal items, chef collaborations, and expanding catering requests. Long term, Tastes By Indy plans to grow into a full headquarters with a catering kitchen and micro event space, while continuing food truck activations and exploring multi-city expansion.
