Right by the water, at Broadway and Skinner Boulevard in Dunedin, a new cafe and dessert spot will soon be inviting guests to “Indulge in Sweet Delights.” Called the Chocolate Bistro, it’s opening at 1004 Broadway—26 days, 8 hours, and 40 minutes from the time of this writing, according to a countdown on the TheChocolateBistro.com.
“At The Chocolate Bistro, we specialize in delectable chocolate creations. From waffles, crepes, to chocolate covered strawberry cups!” the site says.
And there’s more!
“Serving locals and visitors alike, we not only make delicious desserts, we have a love for the written word,” the text continues. What follows is a link to “The ‘Sweetest’ Mail Service,” a collection of themed postcards.
The menu features espresso-based coffee drinks, teas, and—naturally—hot chocolate. This accompanies a build-your-own approach to confections. First, choose from bases like Waffles, Croffles (that is to say, croissant waffles!), Crepes, and Mini Pancakes; then, add a sauce. There’s Belgian Chocolate, Cookie Butter, Peanut Butter, Nutella and more. There are also Toppings like strawberry, banana, and whipped cream, plus Specialty Toppings like Ham & Swiss and Fondue Cheese.
What Now reached out on Friday to owner Shannon Saathoff to ask about plans for the Chocolate Bistro’s big opening. Saathoff was not immediately available for comment.
