A new year is bringing new dining options and a whole new pizza horizon to the DFW-and Texas at large. Slice House by Tony Gemignani is bringing award winning slices and pies to the Lone Star State in 2026 and, helmed by local franchisee Dan Hawkins, the pizzeria is certain to become a Dallas-area institution.
Slice House will be introducing itself to Frisco in a 1,925 square foot storefront located at 5995 Preston Road. Dan Hawkins generously filled What Now Dallas in on bringing the chain’s amazing pizzas to DFW diners. He explains. “I’m actually friends with Tony. I met him maybe 10 years ago…I think he makes the most incredible pizza that I’ve ever had.”
He adds that he jumped at the chance to introduce the pizzeria to the area, saying “Over the years we’d tried to get into business together, and that didn’t pan out for one reason or another. When I found out he’d decided to franchise the concept I was ecstatic. There’s not quite so many pizza options here. The idea of introducing his style and his talent to my new home was very exciting.”
Frisco, Hawkins believes, is the perfect place to familiarize DFW diners with Slice House. He says: “It’s one of my ideal markets. I actually live in Prosper and I think the demographic, the population, and the growth make it ideal for this product. It’s an area that will appreciate this product.”
Founder and celebrated world champion pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani echoes the sentiment. In a statement provided to What Now Dallas about the impending opening, he states: “Bringing Slice House to Texas has been a long-standing goal, and Frisco is the perfect place for us to make our debut. The energy, growth, and strong sense of community here embody what Slice House is all about. We’re excited to share the craft, quality, and variety we’re known for with guests in Frisco, and we look forward to becoming a go-to spot for families, locals, and visitors across North Texas.”
As Slice House is entirely new to Texas, future regulars may understandably be curious about what’s in store. With so many pizza places to choose from, what makes Slice House stand out? Hawkins has you covered. “It’s a scratch made kitchen.” he explains. “We’ve got 4 different styles: New York, Sicilian, Grandma and Detroit. We have gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. We’ll also have fresh pasta, wings, and salads.”
Of course, the pizza is the star. Hawkins states: “We sell it either by the slice or as full pies. It’s made with all the fresh and best ingredients you can get. I just don’t feel like there’s a lot of quality like this available, combined with Tony’s talents.”
Frisco diners will soon be able to taste for themselves just how special Slice House’s pies are. Hawkins states that he feel optimistic about a late January opening, adding “We’re very close, I’m very very excited-everything’s coming together.”
The DFW is already buzzing in anticipation of Slice House’s arrival. Hawkins states: “I have met a lot of people who have stopped in during construction that are so excited to stop in and try this pizza. It’s fun to believe in something so confidently and be able to introduce people to something they’ve likely never tried before.” He adds intriguingly: “It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.”
