Culver’s, the Wisconsin-based fast casual restaurant, is bringing its ButterBurgers and frozen custard to Auburndale.
The restaurant’s franchise owner, Nathan Devine, filed applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for a restaurant to be located at U.S. Highway 92 West. The site is under construction, and an opening date has not been set.
In a world of fast casual restaurants, Culver’s stands out for its friendly hospitality and Midwestern style of cuisine. The restaurant specializes in ButterBurgers: hamburgers made with fresh, never frozen beef that rests between buns that are brushed with butter flown in from Alcam Creamery, a small local creamy located in Wisconsin. Wisconsin is represented in the milk used for the restaurant’s custards and shakes and the cheese for the cheese curds.
Culver’s was founded in 1984 by the Culver family in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Although the company has grown, it retains much of that original local feel, with employees personally delivering food to customers’ cars, opening a door to greet you, or helping the communities it serves.
Today, the company has grown to more than 1,000 locations across 25 states. According to Restaurant Business, it’s one of the top 30 chain restaurants in the U.S. and it continues to expand its scope.
