San Antonio-based Salsita, a popular modern Mexican restaurant, has permanently closed after reopening earlier this year. The restaurant has served its final meal at The Rim location on December 24.
Longtime Local Favorite Salsita Closes Its Doors at The Rim
Salsita Drinks & Tacos, at The Rim, offered authentic modern Mexican cuisine and wood-grilled specialties. The restaurant also served handcrafted and fresh cocktails like margaritas and had a casual and trendy atmosphere.
Popular items in the menu included Burrito Pork Belly, Cachete De Rib Eye, Queso Birria Tacos, and Quesabirrias.
The restaurant shared an official announcement about its closure on Instagram. In the post, the restaurant team said, “Until next time. Thank you for letting us serve you. Last days before we close — December 23.”

The team further added that they are grateful for the support, and expressed, “This small but meaningful journey was filled with smiles, friends, and heroes we’ll always remember. See you soon!”
The restaurant has not shared any official reason for its closure.
