Osmow’s Shawarma is coming to Houston! The popular Canadian-based Mediterranean chain is set to open its first Houston location early next year. According to a recently filed state permit, Osmow’s Shawarma is expected to open in the Cougar Den Center at 4201 Martin Luther King Blvd. #110. Construction is slated to start at the end of 2025 and wrap up in March 2026.
Known for its customizable shawarma in chicken, beef, lamb, and falfael in wraps, platters, and their signature “Rocks” or “Stix,” featuring unique sauces like Garlic S’OZ & OzPotle Sauce, Osmow’s Shawarma is now North America’s fastest-growing shawarma chain. The family-run brand was founded by Sam Osmow, who emigrated from Egypt to Canada with his family, bringing with him a passion for Mediterranean cuisine, which resulted in the first Osmow’s Shawarma location opening in 2001. Since then, his son Ben and daughter, Benadette, have helped the business grow to more than 200 Osmow’s Shawarma shops throughout North America, with its biggest presence in Canada and states like Florida, Michigan, and Virginia.
“Our modern take on classic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes has proven to be a hit with our ever-expanding customer base,” the website reads.
What Now Houston reached out to the Osmow family for more details on the Osmow’s Shawarma Houston debut, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“Close working relationships and a people-centric approach mean the team spirit at Osmow’s remains true to its family origins as the company continues to enjoy accelerated growth,” the website reads.
Now growing into the Greater Houston community, Osmow’s is on its way to complete plans to expand into new US Markets.
