Family-owned restaurant Hibachi Express is preparing to open a new location in St. Petersburg. It’s opening at 3605 49th Street N, in the retail center on the southeast corner of the 38th Avenue North intersection, What Now confirmed with owner Jayson Huang on Tuesday.

Huang is heading up of this branch of the larger family business, which has additional locations in locales like Largo, serving a menu featuring favorites like Hibachi Chicken (Grill fresh chicken in teriyaki sauce, served with fried rice, mixed vegetable, yum yum sauce and choice of 1 side) and a wide range of appetizers, including Shrimp Dumplings, Japanese Fried Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and Seaweed Salad.

“Our menu will be like the others’,” Huang told What Now. “And we haven’t touched the price. It’s a really good deal.”

The opening date is not certain, but a Grand Opening event will include three consecutive days of food giveaways and an iPad raffle.

Opening in Disston Plaza, the retail center anchored by a Publix Super Market at 49th Street and 38th Avenue North, Hibachi Express will join restaurants like Subway and Tobys Original Little Italy Pizza.
