When an area suddenly becomes besieged with restaurant franchises, it’s usually a sign that it’s on the rise in the minds of developers. In Youngsville, development along Chemin Metairie Parkway is booming, and the upcoming opening of a Tropical Smoothie Café location is the latest sign of developer interest.

In early December, the city of Youngsville approved a building permit for the smoothie brand at 1821 Chemin Metairie Pkwy., which used to be a Greek restaurant called Zorba’s. The space is currently undergoing nonstructural renovations that will install the smoothie chain’s signature branding.

According to The Advocate, franchisees Gus Rezende and BJ Crist are behind the new Tropical Smoothie Cafe location. The investors also purchased an acre of land just down the road, which they have yet to develop. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
