After honing their skills at Escalante Golf, a pair of DFW entrepreneurs are preparing to dip their toes into the fast-casual dining scene. Franchisees Connor Huffman and Jack Thornton have signed on to open five locations of Ohio-based Whit’s Frozen Custard across the Dallas region, reports QSR.
Precise locations have not yet been announced for Whit’s DFW expansion, however CEO Bill Aseere was kind enough to confirm with What Now Dallas that the sweet chain will be opening a storefront in Aledo this spring.
Aseere expresses confidence that Huffman and Thornton are the right duo to deliver Whit’s warm and welcoming brand of customer-service to the region. He says: “From scoop to smile, we sprinkle joy across America by serving unforgettable frozen custard in spaces inspired by the communities we love. Connor and Jack understand that balance — building something that can grow, while still feeling personal, welcoming, and rooted in place.”
Founded in March of 2003, Whit’s is committed to serving the very best frozen custard. While the uninitiated may be forgiven for assuming frozen custard and ice cream are functionally interchangeable, the DFW is in for a frozen treat. The website describes the dish as made from: “high quality dairy ingredients, 10% butterfat, a small amount of pasteurized eggs and the blending of very little air during production, thus a smooth and creamy texture with a rich flavor.”
What Now Dallas will be following Whit’s DFW expansion and will provide readers with updates as details become available.
