Walmart is stepping into 2026 with a dedicated emphasis on health and wellness. The retail giant’s offerings begin with its Better Care Services for urgent care and behavioral health. Customers can explore more than 1,000 discounted wellness products, join in-store programs, and discover new healthy recipes online.

Walmart Launches Better Care Services to Enhance Healthcare Access

Walmart’s latest Better Care Services will connect customers to a selected group of third-party providers for assistance with urgent care and behavioral health. The health-based platform will also provide access to the online pharmacy platform LillyDirect.

After a same-day consultation, customers can pick up prescriptions or have them delivered, with free delivery available for Walmart+ members.

From January 15, customers can use a limited-time $15 discount on certain telehealth services with participating providers.

“We know that when health care feels hard, many people don’t get the care they need. We can fix that,” said Kevin Host, senior vice president, health and wellness, pharmacy. “Better Care Services is about making wellness simple and affordable to fit into your life; we’re removing barriers so more people can get the care they deserve, right when they need it.”

Better Care Services also features Walmart’s Nutrition Hub, which provides personalized guidance for healthier eating.

Walmart Drops Prices on 1000+ Wellness Items

This year, the retail giant is dropping rates of 1000 plus wellness items. This includes food, over-the-counter items, supplements, and fitness products by Walmart.

Walmart is also making new additions across wellness categories. Some examples are Lemme vitamins & supplements, David high-protein bars, BelliWelli Fiber gummies, Oikos Pro Fusion drinks, Oura rings, and Seven Sundays granola.

New Year Reset Recipes

Walmart is rolling out more than 400 affordable ‘New Year reset’ recipes online. Customers can also explore the latest added options for popular specialty diets, such as high-protein, keto, and gluten-free.

Bettergoods is a quality, chef-inspired new private brand by the retail giant that features a plant-based lineup and ‘made without’ products. 70% of these products are priced under $5.

Walmart also announced plans to remove synthetic dyes, preservatives, and fat substitutes from its food private brands by next January.

Commitment to Better Quality and Community Engagement

The wellness initiatives of Walmart this new year are not limited to the online medium only. Local communities can participate in its annual Wellness Event across 4,600 pharmacies in the country. The event will take place on Saturday, January 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can experience free health screenings, wellness consultations, and low-cost immunizations.

The retail giant has been organizing Wellness Events for more than ten years. Through this period, Walmart has delivered 5 million plus free screenings in communities nationwide.

“Whether it’s the care you access, the food you buy, or the products you rely on, our goal is to make wellness easier,” said Ralph Clare, senior vice president, health and wellness merchandising. “Customers should not have to choose between convenience, affordability, and care, and at Walmart, they don’t have to.”

Walmart’s tech-supported omnichannel services help customers live better by saving money both in stores and online. Around 270 million customers and members visit 10,750 Walmart outlets and several eCommerce websites each week across 19 countries.

Walmart earned roughly $681 billion in the fiscal year 2025 and employs around 2.1 million associates globally as of now. The retail giant  also leads in sustainability, employment opportunities, and corporate philanthropy.

The launch of Better Care Services, paired with price cuts, underscores Walmart’s push to make health and wellness more accessible.
