A corner storefront in the neighborhood has a history of housing pizza shops.
A liquor license application was recently submitted for Dick’s Pizza coming to 7738 SE 13th Avenue in Sellwood-Moreland. This is a new concept for the area, and the owners have not released an opening date.
Dick’s Pizza would be going next to a Cena Ristorante at the corner of SE 13th Avenue and SE Lambert Street. Also at the plaza are Smitty’s Taphouse and Reverend’s BBQ. It joins the many bars and restaurants along SE 13th Avenue in the neighborhood.
The application lists indoor seating for 50 and outdoor with a capacity of 14. The hours of operation will be 11 a.m.-midnight everyday, with no seasonal variation.
The owners are locals Chris Pfeifer and Joy Boswell. Pfeifer also operates Original Dream Pizza at 4620 NE Glisan Street in North Tabor. There, he serves pies like the P Town with red sauce, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and black olives. It is not confirmed if the pizzas served at Dick’s will be similar or different.
“We’re excited to support the community,” Boswell said.
Right now, Pfeifer must be busy with getting Original Pizza ready for serving again, as staff recently announced on their website they are back to serving. What Now Portland has been in contact with Pfeifer and Boswell about the opening, and this article may be updated.
