Equal Parts Restaurant & Cocktail Bar opened on December 17, 2025 in the heart of San Francisco’s historic North Beach neighborhood.  Equal Parts restaurant and cocktail bar offers the Bay Area a distinctive blend of craft cocktails and Contemporary California Cuisine bringing together the vibrant energy of modern Mexico City with a dash of Tulum’s laid-back elegance, Equal Parts provides an inviting yet sophisticated dining experience.

Located in the Old Spaghetti Factory building — a San Francisco historical landmark dating back to 1908 — Equal Parts introduces a fresh perspective to North Beach, diverging from the area’s traditional offerings. Guests can expect a stylish, moody ambiance with a warm, social energy, designed to reflect the cultural fusion at the heart of the concept.

The concept is the brainchild of three seasoned San Francisco hospitality veterans, who together bring decades of experience.  Victor Pichardo, GM Restaurant & Bar Operations (previously with Hazie’s and Brixton), Jacob Cortes, GM Restaurant & Bar Operations (previously with Hazies, opened Rusted Mule) and Richard Yu, GM Business Operations & Events. With a shared passion for memorable dining experiences and a deep respect for North Beach’s legacy, the team has created a space that feels simultaneously refined and welcoming — a modern community gathering spot with a global perspective.

“We’ve always loved the North Beach neighborhood, and we’re honored to bring our vision to life here,” says Victor Pichardo in a statement. “Reviving a historic space while honoring its legacy was a personal and unique challenge, and we’re thrilled to be part of the neighborhood’s renaissance — especially with the rise of cocktail-forward spots in the area.”

FOOD & DRINK: Bold Flavors, Coastal Roots

The menu at Equal Parts is designed by Chef Melissa Perfit, who joins the team following competing in Bravo’s Top Chef and refining her skills in San Francisco (Hog Island Oyster Co., Farina, Michael Minaʼs RN74, Bar Tartine, and as Chef de Cuisine at Charles Phanʼs Hard Water and partner at Popi’s in the Marina).

Chef Perfit’s culinary techniques are rooted in her two decades of experience cooking throughout San Francisco, inspired by simplicity, seasonal freshness and perfect execution. Her exciting forthcoming menu at Equal Parts can be described as Contemporary California Cuisine, influenced by the abundance of fresh produce and ingredients in California, with globally inspired dishes.

The seasonal menu will feature a balance of land and sea offerings, and will largely consist of “greatest hits” from her past successful restaurants, with some fun new additions as well. The dishes at Equal Parts are intended to be shared at the table, and range from smaller dishes such as crudo, oysters or fried maitake mushrooms, to heartier mains like whole roasted branzino  or braised pork shank. With a wide variety of fresh, seasonal ingredients and flavor profiles, there is something for everyone. Sample dishes include:

Roasted Bone Marrow with French onion jam, Fines herbs and Rize Up Bakery toast

  • Braised Pork Shank with butter beans, pork jus and salsa verde
  • Green Cioppino with tomatillos, garlic, basil-parsley oil, serrano chiles, Mediterranean mussels, Gulf shrimp, Manila clams and local squid, served  with garlic-tomato toast
  • Whole Roasted Branzino with brown butter, cara cara oranges and fresh basil
  • Kanpachi Crudo with basil purée, pickled cucumbers, fresno chile, and guajillo
  • Crispy Fried Chicken (Gluten Free!) served with a trio of dipping sauces including Crystal hot sauce, white BBQ, and red pepper salmorejo

Equal Parts Beverage Director Victor Pichardo has curated an innovative craft cocktail program showcasing handcrafted drinks that highlight fresh, high-quality ingredients, meant to perfectly complement Chef Perfit’s California coastal cuisine. The bar will spotlight premium agave-based spirits — including a curated selection of high-end mezcals and tequilas — alongside a full bar featuring wines sourced from coastal regions around the globe, local craft beers, and inventive non-alcoholic options

Pichardo’s approach is rooted in creativity and seasonality, and he has a strong passion for housemade infusions. His cocktails often echo ingredients and flavor profiles from the kitchen. The result is a tightly integrated food and drink experience with a bold point of view. Sample cocktails include:

  • Miso Spicy –  Jalapeño and habanero infused mezcal with white miso syrup and lime
  • Pull My Daisy – Grilled pineapple infused gin with pasilla chiles, lime, and agave
  • On The Road – Brown butter infused bourbon with garam masala, house made pluot, thyme agave, and lemon
  • Carpe Diem – Jalapeño and habanero infused tequila with fresh cucumber syrup, cilantro, agave, and cucumber foam

To further elevate the beverage program, Equal Parts will host a quarterly guest bartender series, featuring top talent from cocktail capitals like Mexico City, Paris, and Tokyo. These events will bring exclusive drinks and immersive experiences to San Francisco’s bar scene.

EYE ON DESIGN: Where Style Meets Soul

Equal Parts brings a bold new energy to San Francisco’s dining and nightlife scene, blending an electric ambiance with refined design for an experience that’s lively, immersive, and truly one-of-a-kind.

Stepping inside, guests enter through a long tunnel-like walkway with a sculptural canopy. Dappled lighting filters through the natural textures, creating a warm, dreamlike transition from the city outside to the world of Equal Parts within. It’s an entrance that sets the tone—organic, transportive, and distinctly Tulum-inspired.

Beyond the entry, the space opens into a striking interior that feels like an escape—equal parts sophistication and ease. Led by San Francisco-based firm Sean Carino Design, the atmosphere reflects a seamless fusion of contemporary aesthetics and natural textures. Lush greenery, warm wood tones, sculptural lighting, and custom finishes create a layered environment that invites exploration and conversation.

At Equal Parts, Carino’s signature touch manifests in thoughtful contrasts: sleek lines softened by organic materials, intimate corners framed by dynamic lighting, and a curated mix of vintage and modern elements. The result is a space that feels elevated yet unpretentious—inviting guests to stay awhile, unwind, and connect.

The atmosphere evolves throughout the week, with music playing a central role in shaping the vibe. From mellow tropical house on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to vibrant Tulum- and Ibiza-inspired beats on Thursday through Saturday nights, the energy flows as effortlessly as the cocktails. Equal Parts is intentionally designed to offer something different from the city’s typical bar scene—a stylish, soulful sanctuary where the design, music, and menu all work in perfect harmony to create a visit to remember!
