A coffee shop with both drinks and organic food options is coming to the western suburb.
Chicatanas is a new coffee shop listed at 159 SE 2nd Avenue in Hillsboro. This will be at the same location as Mamancy Teas & Chocolate in the downtown area. Owner Roberto Rubio Lezama told What Now Portland he is hoping to open in around three weeks.
Lezama is originally from Los Angeles, and while living in the Hillsboro area he was looking for a new location to serve coffee. He has worked in restaurants in the past all over the country in Florida, Pennsylvania and California, as well as in Mexico. This will be Lezama’s first coffee shop.
The menu will feature coffees and teas, but Lezama will also be serving breakfast items, sourdough bread and tuna salads. Dinner options will also be available at the restaurant, like meat entrees and salads. To end the night, he will also be serving desserts that have not yet been announced.
“Everything will be homemade,” Lezama said.
Mamancy Tea & Chocolates, which is still listed as open online. The storefront is between Influence Music Hall and Hillsboro Artists’ Regional Theater. It is also walking distance from the Hillsboro Central/SE 3rd TC light rail station.
