Zippy’s, a Hawaiian casual dining chain known for its stews, chili, and other comfort-food dishes, celebrated an opening ceremony at Summerlin on January 27. The brand now has its fourth location in Las Vegas, Zippy’s at Summerlin, which opened right on the brand’s 60th anniversary.

The Summerlin outlet offers traditional Zippy’s atmosphere and comfort food served in a casual, family-friendly setting. Guests can enjoy Zippy’s signature Zip Pac bentos, Zip Min bowls, and Korean Fried Chicken, staples of the chain’s Hawaiian-inspired menu.

The restaurant is similar to its other locations in Las Vegas, with long operating hours and accommodating dine-in and takeout visitors, as mentioned here:

  • Location: 10810 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89135
  • Operating Hours: 6 am – 12 am daily

The opening ceremony celebrated Hawaiian traditions with chants, hula performances, and a special dance by local Paiute tribe members. CEO Jason Higa performed the untying of a maile lei. Vida Gamboa, General Manager, and Christine Atud, Assistant General Manager, Zippy’s at Summerlin, also graced the ceremony with their presence.

“Every opening is more than a milestone – it’s our way of carrying the spirit of Hawaii forward, honoring the people who came before us, and welcoming new guests into our Zippy’s ‘ohana,” said Belma Soliven, senior regional director. “As we celebrate 60 years of serving our community this year, we’re proud to continue sharing the flavors, traditions, and aloha spirit that make Zippy’s feel like home.”

Milestone in Zippy’s 60-Year Journey

The brand was founded back in 1966 in Hawaii when brothers Francis and Charles Higa started their first restaurant on King Street in Honolulu. It has been a familiar name throughout the islands for decades, with a combination of local plate lunch favorites and the American diner classics.

Zippy’s was launched in Las Vegas in 2019, and it was the first time the brand expanded outside of Hawaii. Since then, Zippy’s has expanded across the Las Vegas Valley, serving both longtime fans and new customers.

Here are the other three Las Vegas outlets of Zippy’s:

  • Zippy’s Hualapai Way: 4590 S Hualapai Wy, Las Vegas, NV 89147, United States
  • Zippy’s Arroyo Crossing: 7095 Badura Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89118, United States
  • Zippy’s S. Eastern: 9570 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123, United States

The Summerlin opening reflects Zippy’s continued mainland expansion, bringing the Hawaiian comfort food and hospitality the brand is known for to more Las Vegas neighborhoods.
