Pii Nong, a well-known Thai restaurant from Toronto, is getting ready to open a new location in Downtown Oakville at 266 Lakeshore Road, Suite E.

The company’s upcoming Oakville location will mark its first expansion outside Toronto and is expected to open in spring 2026, though an exact date has not yet been announced, according to Insauga. The expansion was recently teased through the brand’s social media. Led by head chef and co-owner Pii “Nana” Nong and co-owner Tom Ha, the Oakville restaurant is expected to uphold the restaurant’s established food-focused approach. Customers can expect street-food-inspired Thai dishes, familiar classics, and a casual dining experience similar to the Toronto locations.

Pii Nong first built its reputation with an original restaurant on Bayview Avenue in Leaside, which now operates as Chon Modern Thai Cuisine. In 2024, the team opened its current flagship near Yonge and Lawrence, a 10,000-square-foot, two-level space that combines a restaurant, Thai market, and massage spa. That location helped elevate the brand’s profile in the GTA and introduced a broader version of the concept. The Oakville opening represents the next step in the restaurant’s growth strategy.

Chef Pii Nong’s cooking is rooted in traditional Thai recipes influenced by her upbringing in Thailand, where she cooked alongside her mother. The menu centers on approachable Thai comfort food while maintaining consistent flavors and techniques. The restaurant has gained attention for balancing classic dishes with a polished but relaxed setting.

The menu is expected to feature staples such as pad Thai, pad kee mao, pad see ew, and khao soi, alongside other rotating dishes inspired by Thai street food. The restaurant is also known for its teddy bear drinks made with mango juice or milk tea, which have become a recognizable part of its identity. These offerings are likely to carry over to the Oakville location.
