Earlier this month, What Now reported on plans for a new Tacodeli in Austin’s Tech Ridge area, at 12705 Center Lake Drive, Suite 140: a $500,000 project whose construction is expected to reach completion in June.

But, as it happens, that’s not the only expansion Tacodeli currently has in the works. This week, What Now came across a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation showing another Tacodeli planned for Leander, opening at 408 E San Gabriel Parkway, Suite 110.

The plans are for a kitchen, dining room, restrooms, and rooftop equipment to be added to an empty shell. This time there’s a $600,000 estimated price tag, with construction expected to run from September 1 to November 24.

Tacodeli was born in 1999 in Austin, and has grown to bring its “handcrafted tacos across Texas.” The brand promises “a big, bold menu made by hand every day. A love for real, quality ingredients sourced with care. A commitment to our communities and to serving great food.”

The Tacodeli menu of Lunch & Dinner Tacos offers considerable variety, ranging from beef choices like the Akaushi Picadillo taco (Seasoned HeartBrand Ranch Akaushi Wagyu ground beef, jack cheese glaze, cilantro onion) to seafood choices like the Mojo Salmon taco (Grilled Atlantic salmon, mojo-garlic sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo). Tacodeli’s Special of the Moment is the Horchata Rib Taco:

“Cozy up with our new special of the moment! We braise duBreton organic pork ribs in a creamy almond horchata so that it’s packed with cinnamon-y flavor, add it to a tortilla, and top it with pickled onions, serranos, and cilantro. You won’t want to miss this one!”

The East San Gabriel Parkway location is not yet viewable on Google Maps.
