Takami Sushi is opening in Apokpa.

The restaurant is opening at 2565 Ocoee Apopka Road, close to both the Publix and Forest Lake Golf Club. According to owner, Yan Chen, the restaurant’s target opening date is the end of March 2026, contingent on necessary work being completed on schedule.

Chen tells What Now Orlando that the menu is being finalized, but expect the freshest sushi, along with other authentic Japanese items such as tempura, edamame, and miso soup.

Apopka is a city that’s experiencing a strong surge in development.

Just a stone’s throw from Downtown Orlando, the city has a large indoor growing industry and is known as the “indoor foliage capital of the world”. This community of more than 56.000 residents has both proximity to the major city of Orlando, as well as natural springs like Kelly Park and Wekiwa Springs. The neighborhood is known for its natural beauty and accessibility to many outdoor activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and hiking. Visitors and localas alike, can enjoy the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, where people can get close to nature without the need to leave the comfort of a vehicle.
