Coffee chain Caribou Coffee appears to have a new location in the works. A permit filed at 1949 East Seventh St. indicates that the coffee spot might take a space there.

What Now Charlotte reached out to Caribou Coffee for more details on the site, but a representative declined to share further information at this time.

The Minnesota-based brand has grown to more than 800 locations, focusing mostly on walk-up window and drive-through models. The menu features handcrafted coffee beverages, refreshers, espresso shakers, energy drinks, tea, snacks, breakfast items and pastries.

Caribou Coffee has been expanding in local markets in recent years. Last year, What Now Charlotte reported on a location heading to Kannapolis, and the chain has also expanded in the Triad with a location in High Point.

The building at 1949 East Seventh Street also houses a Biscuit Belly and Flight.
