A unique Greek-Japanese fusion restaurant is making its way to Boston.
Moro Mou, an intimate omakase concept, is headed to an as-yet-undisclosed location in the Seaport District, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The project is led by restaurateur Demetri Tsolakis, founder and CEO of Xenia Greek Hospitality, the group behind some of Greater Boston’s most beloved Greek dining destinations.
Designed as a 15-seat omakase experience, Moro Mou will examine the common ground between Greek and Japanese cuisine, with a focus on seafood, fermentation, and intimate, highly attentive service.
The restaurant aims to blend Japan’s structured approach to hospitality—where every detail is carefully planned around the guest—with Greece’s more expressive, convivial style of hosting, centered on warmth, generosity, and connection.
Named after the Greek term of endearment meaning “my baby,” Moro Mou is envisioned as both a culinary and emotional experience, according to Boston Magazine. While specific dishes have not yet been announced, the menu will unfold like a love poem, presented as an “intricately illustrated book of spells,” with each course revealing another layer of the restaurant’s story.
Xenia Greek Hospitality is behind a number of Greek restaurants in Boston and beyond, including Greco, Bar Vlaha, Krasi, Kaia, and Hecate. The group is known for blending tradition with innovation, guided by a mission to create spaces that feel “intimate, natural, and full of warmth.”
Moro Mou is slated to open sometime in the summer of 2026. What Now Boston has reached out to the team for additional details and will share updates as more information about the concept, menu, and location becomes available.
