A Thai business in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood is soon replacing a burrito restaurant.

From their social media, Rooster Kitchen recently announced a new brick-and-mortar is coming to the area, and this is revealed to be 1844 W 25th Street. Owner June Smith said she just signed the contract, and she is hoping to open around July 15.

Rooster Kitchen is known for homemade-style Thai street food, mainly serving Pad Thai. On their social media, some of the dishes showcased include their chicken pad thai and coconut pancake. Smith said the menu will be mostly the same with some new additions.

The new brick-and-mortar is replacing Ohio City Burrito this spring, and it will take about 45 days to clean out the space and install their own equipment. The burrito spot originally opened in 2009 and was moved around in the past. When Smith saw the space, she knew it would be a great fit for her business.

“It will be a busy street, we’re excited,” Smith said.

Rooster Kitchen will open next to Old Angle Tavern at the corner of W 25th and Bridge Avenue. It will also join Pizza Whirl and Tabletop Board Game Cafe on the west side of the street.

In the past, the food truck has served at events around the city including the Cleveland Asian Festival. With the location on W 25th Street, they expect many new customers with the proximity to West Side Market. Smith and the team will be providing more updates on their Instagram page closer to the opening. Be sure to follow @roosterkitchenasf.
