“TOASTED YOLK BRINGING BOOZY BRUNCH TO SENDERO,” says a post published yesterday in the Coming Soon Texas Facebook group. “The massive new Sendero development is adding a heavyweight breakfast contender to its lineup. The Toasted Yolk has filed permits to begin construction on a brand-new restaurant at 853 W State Highway 71.”
What Now examined the TDLR filing in question on Friday. It shows construction starting on February 16 and expected to reach completion on May 18, with an $865,000 price tag.
“Notably, the plans include a dedicated 811-square-foot patio, perfect for the brand’s signature ‘brunch and mimosas’ atmosphere,” the Coming Soon Texas post reads.
The news comes as the Toasted Yolk, born in Florida, has been posting serious growth numbers. Just since early December, What Now has reported on locations opening in Kyle and Round Rock. The brand says it’s on a mission to “change the way you think about breakfast and lunch,” and it sure seems to be succeeding!
Limited-time dishes from the Toasted Yolk Chef’s Seasonal Creations Menu currently include the Hot Turkey Reuben (Grilled Cajun turkey piled high with sauerkraut, spicy mustard and Swiss cheese served on grilled rye bread. Served with a side of fries), the Breakfast Quesadilla, (A large flour tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, pico de gallo and Cholula® ranch with a choice of bacon or sausage perfectly grilled. Served with salsa and tomatillo salsa), and the absolutely killer-sounding Banana Custard Pie Waffle (Belgian waffle infused with vanilla wafers, topped with a banana custard, sliced bananas, and house-made caramel sauce and whipped cream. Finished with vanilla wafer crumbles and powdered sugar).
And that’s not even to mention mainstays like Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffles, the Yolk Lover’s Breakfast (Two eggs, cooked to order served with a choice of breakfast meat and a choice of grits or hashbrown casserole and one pancake or French toast), and The Toasted Yolk (Two slices of sourdough bread grilled with an egg in the middle of each. Cooked to order and served with a choice of breakfast meat and a choice of grits or hashbrown casserole)—plus those mimosas, of course.
Opening in the Sendero development, the Toasted Yolk will join a roster set to include restaurants like Chuy’s Tex-Mex, Texas Roadhouse, Jersey Mike’s Subs, and Scooter’s Coffee.
What Now reached out to franchisee Josh Ellis on Friday to ask about plans for the opening. Ellis was not immediately available for comment.
