A new family-friendly experience is heading to Newnan, courtesy of The Vault Escape Rooms, which is slated to open in April at 43A Newnan Station Drive near Steak ‘n Shake (first reported on by The City Menus here).
Owner Kristen Lynd and her family decided to open The Vault Escape Rooms because of their own love for the activity. As they brainstormed small business ideas, her son suggested opening one in Newnan. They felt it would fill a void for a multi-room immersive experience in the area.
“I think that’s what people are looking for — they want an immersive experience that’s got a good mix of technology and hands-on things,” Lynd told What Now Atlanta. “We all sit around on our phones, and we thought what better way to connect than to get friends and families together off their phones using all different types of learning and sensory technologies? We just wanted something where people could disconnect from technology and connect together.”
The concept will feature six rooms with hour-long experiences. Each will offer a different immersive theme designed to appeal to various ages. They will all offer medium to hard levels of difficulty, offering spins on experiences such as mystery, apocalypse and heists. Lynd plans to release more details on the rooms closer to opening.
For Lynd, opening the business has been a family affair. Her children have pitched in on the concept, with one son designing the logo. When they open, Lynd hopes that the new recreational activity will pull other families together, as well.
“The vision is to bring people together to be interactive with one another,” Lynd said. “A lot of people aren’t getting out and about anymore, and we’re hoping to push people out of that and get people into the community.”
