Sanctuary Cellars is a new winery that is set to open in New Braunfels this year. According to a recently filed permit, Sanctuary Cellars is expected to open at 6190 Farm To Market Rd 2722.

The permit details that construction on the new wine tasting venue just kicked off and is slated to wrap up in June of this year.

Sanctuary Cellars is owned and will be operated by John and Terri Ellen LeBasWhat Now San Antonio reached out to the LeBas couple to find out more details about Sanctuary Cellars and the anticipated opening, but we did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Sanctuary Cellars is more than just a winery—it’s where the art of winemaking meets a deep commitment to wildlife preservation and sustainable practices,” the website reads.

“Owned and operated by John and Terri Ellen LeBas, the estate is home to a diverse array of animals, exemplifying their devotion to habitat conservation and responsible stewardship of the land.”

The wine that will be offered and sold at Sanctuary Cellars begins in the Texas High Plains AVA, where the grapes for the wine are harvested.

“Winemaking at Sanctuary Cellars is a balance of precision and passion,” the website reads.

“Every bottle embodies the perfect marriage of nature’s bounty and human artistry, resulting in wines that are not only distinctive but also deeply enjoyable. Whether at home or savoring a glass at the vineyard, each taste is a celebration of the region’s authenticity and craftsmanship.”

Standing at a whopping almost 1600 square feet, the Sanctuary Cellars is estimated to cost half a million dollars to erect.

“The Sanctuary is a peaceful haven for both wildlife and visitors,” the website reads.

“As you explore the grounds, you might spot deer grazing in the open fields, or hear the songs of native birds like the golden-cheeked warbler. Turtles sun themselves near the ponds, and if you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of foxes or other wildlife that call this place home.
