Local pub, The Boardroom, was flagged for violations like:

  • Perishable items stored in the walk-in cooler and found out of temperature must be discarded due to spoilage, the report said. It includes items labeled “perishable,” “keep refrigerated,” or “refrigerate after opening.”
  • The kitchen handwashing sink did not have soap at the time of inspection.
  • The basement walk-in cooler was holding at 54°F, with milk, Clamato, and pickled vegetables measured at 54°F.
  • Rodent droppings were observed on counters and tables in the customer dining area, under the bar where glassware is stored, inside the wall-mounted salamander oven, and a mold-like substance was observed inside the ice machine.
  • Low sanitizer levels were also observed in the dish machine and sanitizer buckets, the report said.
  • Rodent droppings were seen throughout the facility, including inside the wall-mounted oven, behind and along the cook line, on equipment near the cook line, behind refrigerators, and under handwash sinks. They were found under and on top of the warewashing machine, on ladders in the kitchen, in the utensil alcove, on bar equipment and bottle shelves, on dining room counters and tables, throughout the basement, on kegs, and across downstairs dining areas.
  • Carbon Dioxide canisters in the basement were not properly restrained. The walk-in cooler requires repair to maintain temperatures at or below 41°F.
  • The upright kitchen refrigerator and prep-top unit were observed draining into buckets instead of being properly routed to the sanitary sewer. Buckets holding wastewater can attract vermin, the report mentioned.

Follow-up Inspections

The restaurants are expected to take corrective measures ahead of the reinspections to secure a green placard. All three restaurants can request the health department for a follow-up.

With the evidence of active vermin activity across multiple areas of the facilities, the management of the eateries must eliminate the infestation using approved methods. They must remove all evidence of pests, thoroughly clean and sanitize affected surfaces.
