Popular Taiwanese chain Din Tai Fung is bringing its “Golden Ratio” Xiao Long Bao to a new Los Angeles spot. It will open at Westfield Topanga in San Fernando Valley in 2027, according to a release.
“Bringing Din Tai Fung to Westfield Topanga represents the next chapter in our evolution as a lifestyle destination,” Logan Abbene, senior general manager at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, said in the release.“As we continue to curate a thoughtful mix of world-class brands and experiences, Din Tai Fung adds a new layer of cultural and culinary significance that is poised to deeply resonate with our community.”
Din Tai Fung is known for its soup dumplings and its elegant yet casual atmosphere. It originally launched in Taiwan in 1958 before jumping to the North American market in 2000, entering the U.S. with a location in Arcadia. It now has 19 locations across the U.S. and more than 165 locations across 13 countries.
Existing Los Angeles locations include spots at Santa Monica Place, Westfield Century City, Glendale Galleria and Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance.
“Los Angeles is where Din Tai Fung’s U.S. journey began, and it remains a key market in our long-term growth strategy,” Albert Yang, CEO of Din Tai Fung North America, said in the release. “Expanding into the San Fernando Valley with our opening at Westfield Topanga reflects both the depth of demand in the region and our commitment to meeting guests where they live, shop and gather. As a dynamic destination for dining, culture and community, Westfield Topanga is a natural fit for our next chapter — allowing us to share our tradition of craftsmanship, hospitality and iconic Xiao Long Bao with visitors and locals alike.”
