Shakers Public House is growing as a restaurant name in Columbus this year.
It is being reported a new location from the owners of Shakers Public House is opening at 4057 Broadway in Grove City and will be called Dapper Dog Tavern. This follows news the brewery space has gone up for sale. According to co-owner Caitlin Campbell, the estimated opening date will be early April.
The public house is owned by Campbell and her husband, Spencer, and the restaurant has an eventful history in the Columbus area. Their first location opened in the Hilltop neighborhood on Georgesville Road, but was destroyed in a fire three years ago. Now, after opening the Worthington location at 480 E Wilson Bridge in 2024, the owners felt it was the appropriate time for expansion.
“We’ve been trying to get into Grove City in general for a while,” Caitlin told What Now Columbus.
The Worthington location serves a variety of gastropub and bar items, with appetizers like pickle fries, mozzarella sticks and ultimate nachos. Burgers, sandwiches and wings are staple main options. For smaller plates, salads and soups have a place on the menu.
Caitlin said the food items will not be as extensive as the Worthington location as there is no kitchen at the space, and they “have a couple different concepts in mind.” The drink menu will still be the same, including the $1 power hour for drafts, bottles and wines, running from 5-6 p.m. daily.
Grove City is situated about 35 minutes south of downtown Columbus. Shaker Public House is coming to the corner of Broadway and Grove City Road, sharing space with the Heritage Cycles bike shop. Garden Cafe On Broadway was also at his location, and it was reported closed as of February last year.
