A new family-run, veteran owned brewery and pizza restaurant is being planned for Melbourne.

Redtail Four Brewery and Brick Oven Pizza has recently filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for a brewery and pizza restaurant at 2808 South Harbor City Boulevard. Local news site, tapinto.net reported that the Melbourne City Council gave an initial approval to allow a microbrewery and on-site sale of beer and wine at the property, which will be converted into a 7,850 square-foot restaurant and brewing facility. The brewery will include 98 indoor seats and two covered patios with a total of 84 seats. No opening date has been announced.

The taproom will be a family operation, run by Colonel T.J. Fowler (USAF, Ret.) and his daughter, Chelsea Woodard, local residents who live in Palm Bay. In a letter written to the council, Woodard wrote that they want to, “build something lasting and positive for the community.” The name, Redtail Four, is a tribute to Colonel Fowler’s call sign, and that the brewery is planning to honor the Tuskegee Airmen.

The veteran-owned, family-run brewery and restaurant plans on having live music in a family-friendly environment, making it an asset to the community and a new place for craft beer enthusiasts to discover.
