Gyro Hut is continuing a steady and strategic expansion across the Greater Houston area. Gyro Hut is planning on opening its next location in Missouri City.
What Now Houston has spoken with Gyro Hut operating partner, Mehran Khan, about the brand’s growth.
“Fueled by strong customer demand and a proven fast-casual Mediterranean concept,” Khan said.
“The brand’s growth reflects a focus on quality, consistency, and long-term community presence rather than rapid overexpansion.”
Khan confirmed that Gyro Hut would be opening at 8027 Hwy. 6 in Missouri City this year.
While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, Khan shared that they expect to open the new Gyro Hut set to come to Missouri City in 2026.
Gyro Hut’s history dates back to New York around 2008, when founder Victor Waqar brought authentic Mediterranean flavors with fresh ingredients to New Yorkers through a The Gyro Shop food truck. The eatery evolved into a Houston-based brand known for gyros, shawarma, and falafel when he moved to Texas and opened the first Gyro Hut brick-and-mortar in Plano in 2017.
“The menu will feature Gyro Hut’s signature offerings, including NY-style gyro meat, freshly grilled proteins, crisp vegetables, and house-made sauces,” Khan said.
“Consistency is key across all locations, while the brand continues to evolve with thoughtful menu enhancements based on customer feedback.”
“Corporate carefully evaluates each market using data-driven analysis, including traffic flow, visibility, population density, and neighborhood compatibility, Khan said.
“Every location is chosen with the goal of becoming a lasting part of the community while maintaining operational efficiency and brand standards.”
The new Gyro Hut set to come to Missouri City this year is slated to open at 8027 Hwy. 6.
