A mobile food trailer serving smash burgers and fries is settling down in the town south of Columbus.

Staff of Becker’s SMASH-tastic Burgers have announced on social media their brick-and-mortar is opening soon at 31 S Fairfield Street in Leesburg. This is at the former J Lane’s Fine Meat Deli & Grill. An opening date is not confirmed right now as owner Clinton Becker is waiting for a final appointment with the health department, but the team is getting close.

“This next step has been a long time coming and we can’t wait to share it with all of you,” said a recent Facebook post from the owners.

Fans of the food truck know what to expect with the menu, which features favorites like the Big Becker Burger featuring American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and their Becker burger sauce. Burgers are not the only options as chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, loaded fries, tots and drinks are served. Becker said the new menu will be more expansive.

Becker’s is near Leesburg’s center, close to businesses such as Cafe 28, Batter Up Bakery and Saucy Sisters Pizzeria. J Lane’s Fine Meats announced they were officially not reopening in March 2025. In the last month, Becker and staff have been moving into the space to prepare for opening.

Right now, Beckers SMASH-tastic Burgers is operating in front of their new brick-and-mortar to serve the community everyday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. As more approvals happen for the business, staff will be updating the community on the opening date on their social media pages.
