A cozy new chapter is about to begin in the western suburbs of Boston.

Epilogue Books & Wine is planning to open at 21 Summer St in downtown Natick, confirmed owner Mai Hoang. While the lease for the approximately 2,300-square-foot space has not yet been finalized, Hoang is actively working to secure it and move the project forward.

The inspiration, she says, is personal. “The concept comes from my love for books and wine, and the belief that together they can be a great catalyst to foster community,” Hoang told What Now Boston. “I want Epilogue to be a ‘third place’ where people feel comfortable browsing, socializing and lingering.”

By day, Epilogue will operate as an independent bookstore, offering a thoughtfully curated selection of books. In the evening, the space will transform into an intimate wine bar, creating a cozy environment for conversation and relaxation.

A BostonChefs.com job listing for a general manager and lead bartender describes the concept as “an independent bookstore by day, transitioning into a wine bar by night.” The posting emphasizes that Epilogue is not intended to be a high-volume nightclub or sports bar, but rather “a quiet, conversation-focused venue” seeking hospitality professionals who value warmth and intention over turnover and noise.

Alongside the bottles and books, Hoang plans to serve a small food menu featuring charcuterie, tinned fish, and sandwiches designed to pair effortlessly with a glass of wine. A curated beer selection will complement the menu for those who prefer hops to tannins.

If all goes smoothly with licensing and permitting, Epilogue Books & Wine will debut in late summer 2026, just as the season begins to shift toward cozy autumn evenings.
