“Hopdoddy has big plans coming,” says a post by the Austin Business Journal published on Instagram. “In the short term, we can expect six opening for 2026: six across Texas including three in the Austin metro. Long term, the burger chain is looking to add about 45 restaurants by 2030.”
That’s right: three new Hopdoddy restaurants are coming to Austin this year. You may have read recent coverage by What Now on plans for a new Hopdoddy in Leander, at 19389 Ronald W Reagan Boulevard, Suite 100, and in Pflugerville. But, in fact, news had already broken about the third location Hopdoddy has in store for Austin by the middle of 2024.
“A new Hopdoddy Burger Bar is slated to open next year in the Mueller neighborhood,” reported Community Impact in June 2024. (A Spring 2025 opening did not eventuate, but in fairness to all involved, predicting opening dates can be a quixotic enterprise.)
Hopdoddy serves up burgers like the Big Parma (Grilled chicken parmesan patty topped with our Pomodoro Sauce, melty mozzarella & basil pesto mayo), the Wagyu Smash (Double Wagyu beef smash patties, shaved onions, pickled jalapeños, HD secret sauce), and the Roosevelt (Force of Nature 100% Grass-Fed Pasture Raised Bison, Cherry & Fig Honey Jam, Crispy Onions, Goat Cheese & Dressed Arugula). That’s just the beginning, though: if you count the Doddy Melt (two smashed patties, Swiss and American cheeses, caramelized onions, mayo & Comeback sauce on grilled rye bread), there are 18 of burgers in play here.
And that’s alongside other menu categories that include Fried Chicken, Shareable Fries, Loaded Brussels, and Shakes. There’s also plenty of beer and wine, of course.
Austin’s third of Hopdoddy (of the year) will open at 2005 Aldrich St.
