Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group, a San Francisco-based hospitality group, is getting ready to open a new waterfront restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood at China Basin, directly across from Oracle Park.

The new concept is slated to open in Fall 2026, according to a press release. The historic building has been reimagined by property management company McCarthy Cook to accommodate the yet-to-be-named restaurant. Designed by architect Cass Calder Smith, the space will feature expansive indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the Mission Creek channel.

The new restaurant will feature floor-to-ceiling retractable windows, allowing natural light to fill the dining room and creating a direct connection to the surrounding waterfront. Plans call for a spacious lounge, reservable fire-pit seating, and a private dining room designed to accommodate larger groups. The layout is intended to serve residents, office workers, and visitors attending events at Oracle Park.

The project reflects Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group’s continued growth in San Francisco and its focus on operating design-driven restaurants throughout the Bay Area. The group currently manages six full-service restaurants and also consults on multiple hospitality projects. Partners Ryan Cole, Tai Ricci, Jason Halverson, and Lucas Bierbower oversee the company’s portfolio. Executive Chef Jason Halverson will lead culinary direction for the new Mission Bay restaurant.

Hi Neighbor has earned recognition from both San Francisco Magazine and the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, which named the team Restaurateurs of the Year. Its portfolio includes The Vault Steakhouse, The Vault Garden, Trestle, MAMA Oakland, and 7 Adams, as well as Jack & Remi artisan ice cream and The Launch Pad Coffee & Ice Cream. Several of the group’s restaurants have received Michelin distinctions, including Bib Gourmand awards and a Michelin Star. The Mission Bay opening marks another major step for the growing hospitality group.
