Following the success of Kung Fu Chicken’s Little Havana and Florida International University locations, the Asian-style chicken chain is expanding to Miami Beach. The new Miami Beach restaurant, located at 1502 Washington Avenue, will be the brand’s largest location so far. The restaurant menu offers authentic and traditional Asian flavors with a modern twist.
Kung Fu Chicken Brings Its Largest Location to South Beach
Founded by Chef Yu Bi and Dr. Tingjun Lei, Kung Fu Chicken has become a fan-favorite destination for its bold flavors. The restaurant chain is known for its crispy chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours in a house spice blend, coated in tapioca starch, and fried until golden. Sauces are added after frying to keep the coating crisp.
Kung Fu Chicken is expanding to Miami Beach after the success of its first two locations in Little Havana and at Florida International University. The Asian-style chicken restaurant will open in March on Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida. The husband-and-wife team also operates popular Miami restaurants 107 Taste and Cajun Boil.
The new Miami Beach restaurant will be the brand’s largest location, with a 1,600-square-foot space. The location will feature seating for about 40 guests and is designed for both dine-in and takeout. The interior features white walls with pink accents, custom tile work, and a mural of the brand’s mascot, JoJo.
Chef Yu Bi said the team is excited to bring their style of Asian street food to Miami Beach.
“We put a lot of care into how we prepare everything, from the way we season and cook the chicken to how we incorporate flavors together,” said Chef Yu Bi. “We can’t wait for everyone to experience it for themselves!”
Originally from Sichuan, China, Chef Yu Bi shared that her cooking is inspired by family traditions and the street food culture of China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand.
She added, “That’s where I learned that food should be treated with care and shared with intention. At Kung Fu Chicken, we’ve taken that same approach, and I hope every guest can feel that same sense of comfort and connection when they try our food.”
The restaurant chain aims to bring authentic Asian-style cuisine to Miami with traditional cooking methods and quality ingredients.
