A Cincinnati-based hospitality company is bringing three new restaurants to the developing shopping area.
Thunderdome Restaurant Group is set to bring a new Pepp & Dolores location to The District at Deerfield, District Park Drive, along with a new Eagle restaurant. The two concepts have become popular options in Cincinnati’s Over The Rhine neighborhood. Co-founder of Thunderdome Joe Lanni told What Now Columbus the estimated opening dates are around September based on construction.
Pepp & Dolores, which debuted in 2019 in Over-The-Rhine, serves pastas made in-house, like The Sunday Sauce with spaghetti, red sauce, veal and pork meatballs, topped with parmagiano-reggiano. Lanni said the menu for the new Pepp & Dolores will be “substantially the same.” The team does plan on adding a couple new additions, but will keep many of the favorites from the first location.
At Eagle, the food truck and beer hall offers sandwich options, fried chicken and Southern sides like homemade biscuits and sweet potato crock. Visitors of the new Mason Eagle can expect a similar menu with local beers on tap. There are eagle locations in Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville and Pittsburgh.
The initial lease for The District at Deerfield space was signed about two years ago, but last year is when Thunderdome Restaurant Group decided to bring both Pepp & Dolores and Eagle to the site. Additionally City Bird, a chicken tender and sandwich chain in Cincinnati, will accompany the new locations.
The District at Deerfield already has a number of restaurants and bars in the developing area, including 101 Craft Kitchen, Fifty West Brewing Company and a Pins Mechanical Co. The district is about 10 minutes south of the Kings Island amusement park.
More information on construction progress and firm opening dates are expected to be announced in the coming months.
