Miami, meet your newest sugar daddy –Banana Daddy, that is. The city’s most tempting soft-serve concept officially opened its first storefront in Midtown Miami (3415 NE 1st Ave), bringing elevated treats, clean ingredients, and a whole lot of Big Banana Energy. Founded by two Miami couples, Tom Favorule & Jordan Frey and Chris & Emily Campbell, Banana Daddy serves banana- and coconut-based soft serve made entirely from scratch, that’s soft, creamy, and crafted to make you feel something. The storefront also joins Banana Daddy’s fully electric ice cream truck, which debuted during Miami Art Week and will continue bringing the brand’s signature treats and cheeky personality to neighborhoods across the city.

The menu features rotating soft serve flavors, signature sundaes, handcrafted protein shakes, parfaits, specialty iced coffees, and fresh-baked treats made daily on-site. Everything is crafted with high-quality ingredients such as house-made coconut milk and plant-based butter, all designed to hit the spot (your taste buds, obviously). With a wide range of gluten- and dairy-free options, Banana Daddy proves that dessert can be both better-for-you and downright naughty, a rare combo, we know. And yes…Daddy delivers.

Tom, a trained pastry chef and restaurant industry veteran who has worked with Major Food Group (Carbone, Contessa, Parm, Sadelle’s) and KYU restaurants, began experimenting at home to make the perfect banana-based soft serve that was smooth, creamy, and “unlike anything his friends had put in their mouths before.” What started as a culinary challenge quickly became something bigger when Tom and Chris began dreaming up a concept that felt bold, playful, and a little mischievous. At a dinner party in February 2025, after one too many euphemisms, the name “Banana Daddy,” a nod to Chris’s reputation as the host who always takes care of his guests, came up and stuck:

We spent years perfecting these recipes because we refused to put anything out there that wasn’t exceptional,” shares Tom in a statement. “People may come in with preconceived notions about dairy-free dessert, but we only greenlight a recipe if it’s the absolute best version it can be. Quality is never negotiable.”

Standout Banana Daddy menu offerings include

·       Rotating Soft Serve Flavors: Big Banana, Coffee, Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla Protein, and more.

·       Signature Sundaes: Gimme S’more, Berry Creamy, Daddy’s Classic, Pucker Up, and more.

·       Fresh-Baked Treats: Carrot Cake, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Blackout Brownies, Scones, Coconut Cake, and more.

·       Signature Coffees: Banana Iced Coffee, Coconut Iced Coffee, Coconut Iced Matcha, and more.

“So much of Banana Daddy is about storytelling, and the visuals are our way of letting people feel that story before they even take a bite,” said Jordan Frey, Co-Founder and Creative Director. “From the storefront to the truck to the merch and packaging, every detail is intentionally designed — bold, warm, cheeky, and unmistakably Miami. We wanted to create a brand that not only looks good, but makes you feel something the moment you see it.”

The 1,500 square-foot space storefront brings Banana Daddy’s signature “Big Banana Energy” to life in full color, with bold interiors, cheeky brand moments, and neon signage that welcomes guests with a playful glow.  Designed to feel bright by day and buzzy at night, the shop features indoor and outdoor seating, photo-friendly corners, and a big, blurred banana wall that sets the vibe for your next selfie. Guests will also find a curated selection of Banana Daddy merch that’s as fun and cheeky as the desserts themselves. Every inch of the space was crafted to feel lively, welcoming, and unmistakably Miami, creating a true community hangout for mid-day treat breaks, post-dinner dessert runs, and weekend hangs with your favorite “daddies”.

Opening our first storefront in Midtown feels like the moment this idea truly becomes a community,” says Emily Campbell, Co-Founder of Banana Daddy. “We built Banana Daddy to be a place where people can come together, indulge, laugh, and feel completely at home. Dessert should make you happy, not guilty, and we’re excited to bring Miami a space where joy, connection, and a little bit of cheekiness all live under one roof.”

Banana Daddy’s Midtown Miami flagship will be open Wednesday – Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (closed Tuesday).
