Offering an intimate atmosphere, it was led by chef Douglas Rankin, who brought a selection of creative, weird yet curated dishes. The closure was announced after the business noticed a decline in sales following a fire in the restaurant’s vicinity.

The restaurant was popular for its fun, offbeat vibe and distinctive feel. The menu standouts included crispy potatoes, clam toast, rainbow trout, and sprouted cauliflower.

Rao’s Hollywood

After 13 years of serving diners in LA, Rao’s Hollywood will close its doors permanently on February 28. Ownership cited the impact of recent wildfires, shifts in the local hospitality market, and the fallout from Hollywood studios as reasons for the decision. The property on which the restaurant operated was sold, and the lease was terminated, thereby finalizing this decision.

Known for its authentic Southern Neapolitan Italian cuisine and cozy atmosphere, Rao’s has been beloved among diners. Signature dishes include the meatballs, lemon chicken, veal chops, and cheesecake. More details about the closure were previously reported here.
