Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery is embarking on bringing more kolache love to San Marcos with an upcoming opening. According to a recently filed permit, Dos Gatos is slated to open at 1004 I-35 N Frontage Rd.

The permit details that construction is expected to start this Summer in July and wrap up by November 2026. If all goes according to plan, the new Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery to come to San Marcos is anticipated to open before the end of the year.

The beloved bakery is run by brothers Seth and Chase KatzWhat Now San Antonio reached out to Katz to try to find out more details about the upcoming opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery was the first business established by Seth and Chase Katz in 2009. Since then, Dos Gatos has provided San Marcos, Texas, with quality Czech and Texas kolaches and has become a local favorite,” the Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery website reads.

“With a product that is second to none, and two locations close to the Texas State University campus, it is easy to make Dos Gatos a part of your daily routine.”

The menu includes a variety of Texas kolaches like the hatch chili sausagepepperoni & swiss, and the vegetarian sausage oatty with cheese & jalapeno. But, perhaps the big draw is the Czech Kolaches, which range from sweet to sweet and creamy, offering options that include applespeaches & cream, raspberry, and so much more.

Go kolache crazy and more when the new Dos Gatos Kolache Bakery opens at 1004 I-35 N Frontage Rd this winter.
