Chico’s has announced in a corporate email this month that its location in Virginia Highland is set to shutter.
A store manager at the outpost told What Now Atlanta (WNA) on Friday that the Chico’s in VaHi has not renewed their lease.
The shop at 1056 North Highland Avenue Northeast is set to close this coming Monday, January 25th. It is located at the intersection of North Highland Avenue Northeast and Los Angeles Avenue Northeast, adjacent to Paper Source. The boutique is in the heart of Virginia Highland, in the main commerce area of the neighborhood.
The retailer, headquartered in Fort Meyers, Florida, is a clothing chain offering women’s fashions including career wear and separates.

A abomination from the start. Lets get a brewery in there!
Will not miss Chicos. They dont fit the neighborhood vibe. Hope the employees all have a job though
Why do retailers and restaurants come and go so quickly in this area, one of the highest per household income zips in the city?
Chicos has been there for 15 or more years. But the big issue with Va-High is that all the retail properties are owned by only a couple people. The difficulty of generating the revenue per sq foot that they are charging for rent is the reason for turnover and empty locations.
Hated it closed! So convent without having to go to the malls.
