Philadelphia-based chef and restaurateur Michael Schulson is opening another South Florida location of his wildly popular sushi restaurant, Double Knot.
Schulson and his team filed permit applications with the Florida Depart of Business and Professional Regulation to open a Double Knot at 22 W. Atlantic Avenue, in the heart of Delray Beach’s ever growing Sundy Village complex. No exact opening date has been announced.
The chef/restaurateur owns a portfolio of restaurants under his company, Schulson Collective, including Prunella, Sampan, and Alpen Rose in Philadelphia to name just a few. He also owns Double Knot in Philadelphia and a Miami location, which opened in Wynwood last year.
Double Knot is Schulson’s tony sushi restaurant and izakaya, offering sushi and sashimi, along with a host of robotayaki — grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables that range from asparagus to Kobe beef. Double Knot also offers a chef’s tasting menu of 10 items plus a soft serve dessert for a value-driven price.
When it opens, Double Knot will join other lauded restaurants at Sundy Village, including Barcelona Wine Bar, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, and Drinking Pig BBQ. The project includes 100,000 square feet of Class A+ office space, 30,000 square feet of retail and dining, and 268 below-grade public parking spaces.
