Hamburger Mary’s, the beloved restaurant that was an iconic Orlando figure for both its food and entertainment, is finally reopening.

The restaurant, known for its drag shows and succulent burgers, closed in June 2024 after 16 years of good food and entertainment. Now, it’s reopening at a new location with a new lease on life.

John Paonessa and his husband, Mike Rogier, will reopen Hamburger Mary’s at Kissimmee’s Old Town complex (5764 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway). According to Orlando Weekly, the restaurant and entertainment venue will open May 2026.

On the Hamburger Mary’s Orlando Facebook page, Paonessa and Rogier posted a heartfelt thank you to the community that has been patiently awaiting its reopening: “Mary has found her new home! Thank you all for your patience as we’ve worked so hard to find a great location for Hamburger Marys. We will be moving into the Old Town Complex in Kissimmee off Hwy 192, at the former Shoney’s restaurant location right up front in Old Town. We are so excited, but we have work to do before we get open, to turn a Shoney’s into a colorful and vibrant new Hamburger Mary’s location that we know you will love. We will continue to provide updates and we can’t wait to see your smiling faces walking through the door. We love you all. Thank you so much for your continued support. John & Mike.”

When it opens, Hamburger Mary’s will offer food and drink in addition to a robust lineup of drag shows, bingo, and other events. More than that, Hamburger Mary’s offers a vibrant sense of community.
