The owner of a popular Columbus venue is looking to open a spot with a more upscale vibe.
From 614NOW, Let Me Roll It is a new cocktail bar with vintage themes coming to 132 E 5th Avenue in late spring. The bar will serve craft cocktails, wine and beer and will be themed to the 70s. Owner Conor Stratton is anticipating a May opening.
“Let the good times roll,” says the description on their Instagram page.
The bar is named after one of Paul McCartney’s hit songs. Stratton, who owns the bar, has a history of organizing music venues, and this time he sought to take a break and focus on a cocktail lounge concept. Cocktails to be served include negronis, martinis and old fashions.
Ace of Cups has been open since 2011, hosting sold out shows, listening parties and dance nights. Stratton later took ownership of the venue, and he has been involved with the Central and Southern Ohio music scene, including being the managing director of Dayton Music Festival. He has not announced if live shows will accompany the bar.
The new bar will be at the corner of Summit Street, across the street from Del Baggio Pizzeria. Other concepts nearby include K Vida, a Mexican restaurant which will be opening soon, and Artisan Pizza Cafe. This is just east of Short North.
What Now Columbus has reached out to Stratton and is awaiting comment about Let Me Roll It. More updates and the opening date can be found on their Instagram @letmerollitbar.
