Angry Chickz is set to make its big Alamo City debut this year. The California-based booming chicken brand is anticipated to open in the Commons at Tezel Road, Building 1. According to a recently filed permit, Angry Chickz will serve its good eats out of 8111 Tezel Rd., Suite 110.
The permit for the first San Antonio Angry Chickz also details that construction on the more than 2,100 square-foot Angry Chickz restaurant space is slated to start in April and wrap up by July. If all goes well, it will be a hot chicken summer in San Antonio with the debut of the new Angry Chickz.
“Since perfecting our recipe and opening up shop in 2018, Angry Chickz has grown from one 900-square-foot storefront in East Hollywood to over 25 restaurants across California, Nevada, and Arizona. The best part? We’re just getting started,” the Angry Chickz website reads.
By 2025, the chain expanded from its California roots into Nevada, Arizona, and Texas, aiming to exceed 50 locations by 2026. As of early 2026, the brand has expanded to at least 30 locations across those regions, with plans to open 25 new Angry Chickz locations across Texas and New Mexico over the next five years.
At the helm of the brand is CEO and Founder David Mkhitaryan. What Now San Antonio reached out Mkhitaryan to find out more details about the Angry Chikz debut, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“If you’re ready to get knocked over by the juiciest, tenderest, delicious-est hot chicken you’ve ever had, you came to the right place,” the Hollywood chicken brand’s website reads.
“We’re on a mission to make your taste buds see stars. Every. Single. Time.”
The bedrock of the menu is the fried chicken, which customers can get in varying degrees of heat from Country to Angry. Guests can get their chicken in a slider, on a slice of toast, or atop a bed of slaw. Angry Chickz also offers a variety of bowls, including the Angry Mac, Angry Fries, and Hangry Fix.
Angry Chickz is slated to debut in San Antonio in the Commons at Tezel Road, Building 1 at 8111 Tezel Rd., Suite 110 by this summer.
