Simi Valley-based coffee chain Makenna Koffee has a new location on the way to Northridge. It has “coming soon” signage up at 9255 Reseda Blvd, according to the What’s New to San Fernando Valley Instagram page. It will take over the space formerly home to R Cafe.

Franchise group JM Valley Group will operate the forthcoming location. The franchise group also operates units for Jersey Mike’s and Dave’s Hot Chicken in both California and Florida.

Lance Clauson launched the brand in 2019 in Simi Valley. Existing locations include Westlake Village, Ventura, Valencia and Camarillo. Makenna Koffee offers espresso drinks with signature offerings such as the North Shore and the Hawaiian Honey, energy drinks, baked goods, blended beverages, smoothies and cold brew.

There are also locations on the way to Santa Monica and Newbury Park.

A representative with JM Valley confirmed the Northridge location with What Now Los Angeles. The team is currently hiring for the new coffee shop.
