What Now reported back in July 2024 on plans for Hawaiian-born coffee chain Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii to open a new location on Clearwater Beach. That opening has since proceeded—as has another previously reported location Lakewood Ranch. A third is also open in Lutz.

Meanwhile, Bad Ass Coffee is continuing to grow in the area, with a new location planned for New Port Richey, at 5243 Little Road. It will be a fourth spot to enjoy everybody’s favorite Hawaiian coffee.

At the Lutz location, currently featured favorites from the menu include the Hazelnut Hula (Caramel, Dark Chocolate, and Hazelnut) and the Aloha Sandwich (Ham, egg, Swiss, pineapple, and BBQ drizzle served on King’s Hawaiian® sweet bread). That’s in addition to Bad Ass Lattes like Beach Bliss (White Chocolate & Macadamia Nut), Caramel Wave (Caramel and Vanilla) and the Monkey Mocha (Banana and Dark Chocolate).

“In 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii with a goal of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Moloka’i, Kona and Ka’u with coffee lovers everywhere,” says the Bad Ass Coffee website. “It didn’t take long for the legend of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii to reach the mainland as tourists began to bring their new favorite coffee, hats and t-shirts home and spread the word about the Hawaiian Bad Ass experience. A new legend was born!”

Opening in the Little Road location, the new Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii location will join restaurants like McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Hibachi Express.
