PopUp Bagels is bringing its “grip, rip, and dip” concept to Waterford Lakes Town Center.

The bagel company, known for its non-traditional bagel sales technique, is planning a shop at the tony shopping center, according to the Orlando Business Journal. The 1,500-square-foot restaurant will open next to Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, at 325 N Alafaya Trail. No opening date has been announced.  The Orlando shop is part of a franchise deal between PopUp Bagels and MPZ Holdings LLC, which will bring as many as 30 locations to the Sunshine State.

PopUp Bagels was founded in Connecticut by Adam Goldberg, who started selling bagels from his Connecticut home during the pandemic. The cottage business took off and Goldberg soon found his bagels in high demand. Backed by A-list celebrities like Paul Rudd and Michael Phelps, PopUp Bagels now has more than a dozen locations, and the brand continues to grow rapidly.

People seek out PopUp Bagels for its unconventional way of eating the popular baked good: bagels are sold by the bagful, with cream cheeses sold in tubs. Customers are encouraged to rip off a piece of fresh bagel and dip it into the cream cheese for a new and interesting approach to breakfast.
